About
Sawoti Memoral Park
On 19th November 2024, the Umzinto precinct witnessed the official launch of Inkosi Sawoti Memorial Park, a state-of-the-art cemetery initiated by Mazibuko Investments. This visionary project addresses the growing shortage of burial space in Kwa-Zulu Natal and will accommodate over 300,000 dignified burials, beginning in February 2026.
The first sod-turning ceremony was honoured by the Senior members of the Traditional Council and the Deputy Mayor, both of whom have expressed strong support for this vital development.
SMP will be the 3rd largest of its kind in the world and the largest in Africa
Solving the Burial Space Crisis
With urbanization on the rise, many cemeteries face overcrowding. Inkosi Sawoti Memorial Park is a timely and permanent solution, offering an expansive, and sustainable burial ground.
Climate Resilient Location
Strategically located in a region less prone to flooding and erosion, our cemetery ensures your loved one’s final resting place remains secure and undisturbed.
Cultural Sensitivity and Community Respect
We honor all cultural and traditional practices. Every burial is conducted with deep respect and in accordance with family customs. Every grave is a space for peace, privacy, and remembrance.
